Cliff is standing at the boat dock, talking with Dudley. He confirms to Dudley that he will be leaving. Cliff feels that Mineral Town is too good a place for someone like him.
Dudley scolds Cliff, telling him that being too kind is not a bad thing. Cliff isn’t so sure but thanks Dudley and asks him to send his regards to everyone.
Dudley chooses not to tell Ran, as she seems to have a soft spot for Cliff and would miss him when he leaves. Cliff hesitates for a moment but tells Dudley that he is indeed leaving.
As he walks away, Cliff thanks Dudley again. The innkeeper tells Cliff that he is welcome to come back anytime.
At this point, Cliff will leave Mineral Town. Even if you haven’t witnessed this special cutscene, if you did not help Cliff get the job at the winery, he will leave on Winter 29 and actually depart on Winter 30.
Despite Cliff leaving, his portrait, Love Points, and Friendship Points will remain visible in the village Relationship menu.
