While walking along the path near the winery, you spot a shadowy figure—Cliff! He is walking quickly, but you manage to catch up to him. Cliff shares that he has been thinking a lot about the people of Mineral Town, but honestly feels unsure about what to say or do for them.
You can respond in two ways:
- Positive: “They’d be happy to hear that.”
- Neutral: “That’s kinda lame.”
At that moment, Duke appears and recognizes Cliff from the church. Duke comments that Cliff doesn’t seem to have a job, and mentions how busy he has been at the winery, wishing someone would help him.
You suggest to Duke that Cliff might be able to assist. Duke then asks Cliff if he would help with the winery work. Cliff is hesitant at first, not understanding why Duke would offer a job to someone who had left town. Duke insists, and after he leaves, Cliff agrees to follow him back to the winery.
Dudley notices Cliff’s return and is happy, as he hadn’t yet told Ran that Cliff had left.
Starting the next day, Cliff will be seen working happily at the winery once again.
