Grandpa’s Letter (Event)

Ellen, Elly, and Yu warmly welcome you when you arrive. Elly and Ellen ask how your farm is doing and praise how admirable your hard work is. Elly says she could learn a lot from you.

Ellen notes that even though Elly has the day off, she’s still diligently studying her medical books. Elly suddenly remembers she forgot to return a borrowed book to the Doctor. She goes to the bookshelf to look for it—but instead, she finds a letter addressed to Ellen.

The letter is from Ellen’s late husband. He wrote it on the day Elly was born, the day he became a grandfather. In the letter, he expresses how happy he was to have met Ellen and thanks her for everything. He had hidden the letter because he was too shy to give it to her in person.

Elly is amazed to learn the letter was written on her birthday. Ellen chuckles and tells her that her grandfather was a very shy man.

Elly says she never knew her grandfather had written something like this. Even though he’s been gone for a long time, Ellen says she’ll treasure the letter dearly.
