Spring Festival

Like in other Story of Seasons games, Friends of Mineral Town features various festivals each season. There are four main festivals held in Spring that you shouldn’t miss: Mochi Bonanza, White Day, Spring Derby, and Cooking Exhibition.

Spring 1 – Mochi Bonanza

• Location: Rose Plaza
• Time: 6:00 PM ~ 12:00 AM
• Available from: Year 2 onward

Starting from your second year, head to Rose Plaza between 6:00 PM and midnight to celebrate the New Year. Villagers gather to pound rice and enjoy mochi together, hoping for good fortune in the new year.

• Talking to each villager present gives you +5 FP with them.
• Speak to Mayor Thomas to start the festival.
• You’ll watch the mochi-pounding event and return home afterward.
• If you have open slots in your backpack, you will receive a few pieces of Mochi.

Spring 14 – White Day

• Event Timeframe: All day
• Trigger: Receive cookies from male marriage candidates or give cookies to bachelorettes.

On White Day, you’ll receive gifts such as Cookies or Chocolate Cookies from male marriage candidates.

Gift Schedule (If You’re Outside):

Heart color must be Purple – 10,000 LP or higher

• Kai participates by sending Cookies via your mailbox.
• Cliff will not participate from Year 2 onward unless he is working at Adge Winery.

Notes:

• Talk to visitors to receive Cookies.
• Bachelors with Yellow Heart (40,000 LP) or higher will give you Chocolate Cookies instead.
• The first time you receive Chocolate Cookies, you’ll also be given one of the seven rings (if you haven’t received it during the Winter 14 Valentine’s Day event).

If you’re married, your spouse will leave either Cookies (Green Heart or less) or Chocolate Cookies (Yellow Heart or more) in your bag when you go to bed.

• You will also receive +1000 LP with your spouse.
• You can receive one of the seven rings if you never got it before marriage.
• Be sure to leave an empty slot in your bag before going to bed on Spring 14 to ensure you receive the gift.

You Can Also Give Cookies:

• If unmarried, giving Cookies to female marriage candidates will increase +1000 LP and +20 FP.
• Chocolate Cookies can also be given, but do not yield extra LP.
• You may reuse Cookies received earlier in the day.

If you’re married, giving Cookies to your spouse will earn +1000 LP and +20 FP, while giving them to other candidates gives only +20 FP since their LP is locked.

Cookies are a cooking recipe. You can learn it from Anna during the second half of a random event.

Spring 18 – Spring Derby

• Location: Rose Plaza
• Time: 10:00 AM ~ 6:00 PM
• Prerequisite: Mayor Thomas visits on 17 Spring to invite you. If you have a mature horse, he’ll ask if you want to participate.

On Spring 17, Mayor Thomas will visit your house in the morning and invite you to the Spring Horse Derby held at Rose Plaza the next day.

• If you own an adult horse, he’ll ask if you’d like to participate.
• If you accept, Thomas will temporarily take your horse for the race.

Festival Details:

• Held from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Rose Plaza.
• Talk to villagers for +5 FP each.
• There are three races in total.
• Speak to Thomas to start a race, place bets, or exchange medals for prizes.

Betting System:

• You’ll see four participating horses with their odds.
• Lower odds mean the horse is more likely to win.
• Example: Horse #1 has 5x odds, Horse #2 has 26x odds → Horse #1 is more likely to win.
• Betting on a winning horse gives medals = tickets × odds.
  • E.g., 10 tickets on a 5x horse = 50 medals.
• Each ticket costs 100 G.
• You can bet on multiple horses.

Player Race:

• Your horse competes in Race 3.
• You can bet on your own horse.
• Press the click button (PC) repeatedly to boost speed.
• A colored stamina bubble above your horse shows energy:
  • Green → Yellow → Red.
• Let the horse rest when stamina is low before pushing again.

Winning Your Race:

• +20 FP with villagers watching.
• You’ll receive a Power Berry for winning your first Derby.

Medals & Prize Exchange

You can exchange medals with Thomas after the third race. Medals carry over to the next Derby if unused.

• Truth Jewel and Power Berry can only be redeemed once.
• Other items can be redeemed multiple times.
• Brooches are the most profitable for shipping.

The festival ends at 6:00 PM, and you’ll be returned home with your horse.

Spring 22 – Cooking Exhibition

• Location: Rose Plaza
• Time:
  • Part 1: 10:00 AM ~ 12:00 PM
  • Part 2: 12:00 PM ~ 6:00 PM

To participate, you must have a kitchen and cooking utensils in your house.

On the morning of Spring 22, head to Rose Plaza between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM and talk to the gourmet food judge, Bon Viviant.

Dish Category by Year:

• Talking to villagers earns +5 FP each.
• After learning the category, you’ll be taken home to cook a dish.
• Return between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM to submit your dish to Thomas.

Tips:

• Dishes with higher stamina recovery score better.
• Not all dishes qualify; e.g., Spicy Sandwich doesn’t count for Bread, while regular Sandwich does.
• Use dishes clearly labeled in your recipe list.
• Bring backup dishes just in case; once you return, you cannot leave to cook again.

Bon Viviant will judge all entries, tasting yours last. If you win, you get +20 FP with all villagers.

Post-Festival:

After the contest (6:00–8:00 PM), you can find Bon Viviant sitting on a bench near the trash can in Rose Plaza. This is the only time you can give him a gift.

• Curry Rice
• Pudding

Note: Items like Stamina Booster and Caffeine from the Clinic cannot be submitted as entries in the Juice category.
