Just like in other Story of Seasons games, your character in Friends of Mineral Town has two key health components that affect how long you can perform farming, mining, and other activities: Stamina (STA) and Fatigue (FAT).
Health Breakdown

- Stamina (STA):
Represented by a Power Berry icon and a number. Each Power Berry equals 15 stamina points. Using tools consumes stamina. The number above the icon shows current and total stamina. - Fatigue (FAT):
Represented by a face icon. The more tired you are, the more distressed the face becomes. Fatigue rises when you overwork, especially during poor weather or late hours.
Stamina (STA)
At the beginning of the game, you have 10 Power Berries = 150 STA.
Using tools costs STA depending on the tool type and upgrade level. Cursed Tools consume significantly more STA. Upgrading tools increases efficiency but also raises STA usage.
Tool STA Usage by Upgrade Level
| Tool | Lv.1 Old | Lv.2 Copper | Lv.3 Silver | Lv.4 Gold | Lv.5 Mithril | Lv.6 Curse/Blessed | Lv.7 Mythic |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Axe | 2 STA | 4 STA | 5 STA | 8 STA | 10 STA | 20 STA | 10 STA |
| Fishing Rod | 2 STA | 2 STA | 2 STA | 2 STA | 2 STA | 2 STA | 2 STA |
| Hammer | 2 STA | 4 STA | 5 STA | 8 STA | 10 STA | 15 STA | 20 STA |
| Hoe | 2 STA | 3 STA | 4 STA | 5 STA | 7 STA | 15 STA | 40 STA |
| Sickle | 2 STA | 3 STA | 5 STA | 7 STA | 10 STA | 15 STA | 20 STA |
| Watering Can | 2 STA | 4 STA | 6 STA | 8 STA | 10 STA | 15 STA | 20 STA |
Mining Stamina Penalties
Falling multiple floors at once in the mine causes extra STA loss:
- 1 floor: -20 STA
- 2 floors: -30 STA
- 3 floors: -40 STA
- 4 floors: -60 STA
- 5 floors: -70 STA
Fatigue (FAT)
Fatigue starts at 0 and increases with overwork. If FAT reaches 100, your character collapses and will be hospitalized for one day—even if you still have STA left.
Fatigue increases:
- When using tools after stamina is depleted.
- When using tools in bad weather or late at night.
- If you skip sleep or sleep very late.
Fatigue Breakdown
The face icon tells you how tired your character is:
| Icon | FAT |
|---|---|
![]() | 0 |
![]() | 1-49 |
![]() | 50-79 |
![]() | 80–100 (danger!) |
Once your stamina hits zero, using tools adds to your FAT instead. Also, certain actions and times of day add fatigue.
FAT Penalty Table
| Action | FAT Increase |
|---|---|
| Use tools during rain or snow | +1 per use |
| Use tools between 10:00 PM – 11:59 PM | +1 per use |
| Use tools between 12:00 AM – 5:59 AM | +2 per use |
| Stay awake past 12:00 AM | +3 once |
| Stay awake past 2:00 AM | +4 once |
| Stay awake past 4:00 AM | +4 once |
| Stay awake until 6:00 AM | +10 once |
| Use tools at 0 STA | +2 per use |
| Use Cursed Tools | +10 per use |
So yeah—don’t stay up too late and don’t push yourself when your stamina’s already empty.
Recovery Methods
Here’s how you can recover STA and reduce FAT in the game:
| Method | STA Recovery | FAT Recovery |
|---|---|---|
| Sleeping | +50 + (7 × hours slept) | -5 + (2 × hours slept) |
| Eating food | Varies by item | Varies by item |
| Hot Spring | +1 STA per in-game minute | -1 FAT per in-game minute |
| Eating at the Inn | Varies by meal | Varies by meal |
| Goddess Orb equipped | +1 STA per in-game minute | — |
| Kappa Orb equipped | — | -1 FAT per in-game minute |
1. Eating

You can buy food from Kai’s Beach Cafe or Dudley’s Inn. Food is consumed instantly upon purchase and helps restore STA and/or reduce FAT. You can also cook in your kitchen once it’s installed.
To check how much STA/FAT an item restores:
- Open the Rucksack
- Hover over the item
- Look at the top-left corner for the values
Red Grass is the only edible item that has no health benefits and actually increases FAT.
2. Sleep

You wake up at 6:00 AM no matter what time you go to bed. The earlier you sleep, the more health you recover.
STA Recovery Formula:
- +50 STA base
- +7 STA per hour slept
FAT Recovery Formula:
- -5 FAT base
- -2 FAT per hour slept
You also get a random breakfast when you wake up (e.g., Onigiri or Bread), which gives minor recovery.
Example:
Sleep at 11:00 PM and eat Bread (+2 STA, 0 FAT):
- STA: 50 + (7×7) + 2 = 101 STA
- FAT: 5 + (7×2) = 19 FAT
3. Hot Spring

The Hot Spring is located just south of your farm, beside the Goddess Pond.
- Restores +1 STA and -1 FAT per in-game minute
- Free and unlimited, but time-consuming
4. Gems
Equip Goddess Orbs or Kappa Orbs for passive healing:
Goddess Orbs (STA Recovery)
- Found in Spring Mine:
- Floors 60, 102, 123, 152, 155, 171, 190, 202, 222
Kappa Orbs (FAT Recovery)
- Found in Lake Mine:
- Floors 0, 40, 60, 80, 120, 140, 160, 180, 255
Collect all 9 of each to create an equipable orb that restores 1 STA or reduces 1 FAT per in-game minute.
5. Flower Vase

On Spring 3 of Year 1, Huang arrives and opens a shop at Mineral Beach. On Spring 11, he’ll visit you and offer a Flower Vase for 5,000 G.
- Place flowers in the vase to restore health each morning.
- Flower effects vary by type and have a limited bloom period.
| Flower Type | Effect | Bloom Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Moondrop Flower | +10 STA | 7 days |
| Toy Flower | -7 FAT | 5 days |
| Pinkcat Flower | -5 FAT | 5 days |
| Blue Magic Flower | +3 STA | 10 days |
| Red Magic Flower | -10 FAT | 5 days |
| Sunsweet Flower | -20 FAT | 2 days |
You can replace the flower at any time. If you refuse Huang five times, he’ll stop offering the vase permanently.
