Solar Research (Event)

You enter Daryl’s lab and hear him chuckling to himself. When he notices you nearby, he asks what you want.

You’re given a choice:

Response	Notes
1A: “Just saying hi.”	Daryl dismisses you, saying he’s about to begin an important experiment that could significantly impact his research. You leave the lab.
1B: “What’s going on…?”	Daryl explains that he’s working on a solar energy project. If he can harness the power of the sun, he believes he could supply energy to the entire valley—or even the whole world. He turns and shows you the solar power unit he designed. You’re about to witness a scientific miracle.

If you chose 1B, you’ll be prompted again:

2A: “I’m outta here!” (-2 FP)	You quickly leave before anything goes wrong. Just as you get outside, you hear Daryl grumbling—something has gone awry. A sudden explosion follows. He mutters that he’ll need to make improvements before the test can be considered a success.
2B: “I’m sure everything is fine.” (+5 FP)	The solar device begins to smoke. Something’s not right. Suddenly, a dramatic explosion destroys the solar unit, and the lab lights go out. Daryl quickly restores power and admits the experiment still needs work.
