In Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, you’re not limited to just farming. There are plenty of other activities you can enjoy—like fishing, making friends with villagers, and mining for artifacts.
How to Start Mining
To mine, head to the Dig Site, which is located north of your farm, across the river.
You can find various interesting artifacts while mining. While it’s not as essential as farming, mining is a great way to earn extra income.
- Available Hours: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Closed Days: 3rd and 8th of each season
- Special Item: One Stone Tablet per year (cannot be sold or kept)
Any item you find—except the Stone Tablet—can be sold to Van or gifted to certain villagers like Daryl to raise friendship.
How the Dig Site Works

- To start, arrive at the Dig Site between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- You can dig for up to 7 in-game hours.
- Flora leaves at 3:30 PM, and Carter at 5:00 PM.
Inside, you’ll see a grid of square digging spots. Some may already be partially dug, with or without items visible.
- If you see part of an item sticking out, just keep digging on that square until you uncover it.
- If there’s no item showing, keep digging on the same spot—eventually, something might appear.
- It’s confirmed that each dig spot can yield up to 3 items per day.
Luck Factor
Your daily luck, as shown on your home TV, can affect how easily you find items. On lucky days, you’ll dig up items faster.
