Carter is an archaeologist in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life who comes to Forgotten Valley to study the ancient civilization that once inhabited the area. He lives in a tent near the Dig Site, where he works alongside his assistant, Flora.
Carter generously allows the player to keep anything they unearth at the Dig Site—except for Stone Slabs, which are key to yearly discoveries.
He is a quiet, intellectual man who enjoys sunshine, often commenting on it during spring and summer, and lamenting its absence during autumn and winter. On his days off, he can be found gazing out at the ocean horizon, appreciating the scenery and calming sounds of the beach.
Although respected, Carter isn’t particularly lucky when it comes to food—Flora does most of the cooking, and she’s not known for her culinary skill. Carter enjoys a good meal and is especially fond of fresh ingredients.
Befriending Carter can influence your child’s academic interests. If your child is most drawn to academics by the end of Chapter 3, Carter will express his desire to hire your child as an assistant in the future.
Once Carter’s friendship is nearly maxed out, he’ll give the player the record “Summer of the Pioneer” if you speak to him at the beach on one of his days off.
Note: Carter will not accept gifts while he is actively working at the Dig Site.
