Music Records

Inside your house, there’s a record player. This device lets you change the background music that plays when you’re on your farm. To do that, just walk up to the record player and press the action button—you’ll see a list of available tracks.

The music plays while you’re outside on the farm. For example, you might hear it while walking along the main path to the Forest Spring.

At the beginning of the game, you’ll only have two records: “Breezy” and “Quiet Winter.” You can collect more by building friendships with villagers or by buying one from Van’s shop.

The record player will move from the main room to your bedroom in Chapter 4.

You can turn off the record player by selecting the active record and pressing the action button again. You can also remove records from the player. Removed records will still be listed but won’t be available to play unless reactivated.

How to Get the Record Player

In Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, there are 14 records you can collect. Once you get a new one, bring it home and interact with the record player to add it to your collection.

1. Breezy

You get this record for free when you start the game.

2. Quiet Winter

Just like Breezy, this one is also available from the start for free.

3. Spring is in the Air

Sold by Van for 100,000 G. He’ll offer it once your friendship with him reaches 90 FP. To raise his FP, give him gifts he likes—he loves eggs, items from the dig site, and Winter flowers.

4. Sleeping Spirits

Given to you by Sebastian once you reach 90 FP or higher. Talk to him while he’s in his room at the villa.

To build friendship with Sebastian, give him things he likes such as flowers, mining ores, silver coins, curry, mushroom curry, or spicy curry.

5. Another Valley, Together

Available early in the game. Go to the forest and eat the mysterious mushroom near the Nature Sprite tree.

You’ll shrink and enter the tree. In the back of the room, there’s a big brown pot. Talk to Mr. Potson 100 times. The dialogue will change as you get closer to 100 interactions:

  • 1–10: “Is something in there?“
  • 11–20: “There’s some sort of liquid sloshing around inside the pot“
  • 21–30: “Something’s sort of odd about the liquid in this pot…”
  • 31–40: “Mm…?“
  • 41–50: “…”
  • 51–60: “Fool… Who dares disturb my slumber“
  • 61–70: “Begone… Leave me be… or ELSE…”
  • 71–80: “… Seriously, knock it off.“
  • 81–90: “Come on. Really? Why are you LIKE this?“
  • 100: You receive the record

6. 64 Memories

Play a mini-game with Charlie and Cole in their house. You’ll try to claim the most space on the board.

It’s easy to win if you place large lines—they won’t block you until they realize you’re about to dominate the board. Win 10 times to get the record.

You don’t need to beat both of them. I got the record just by defeating Charlie, who is easier, during Chapter 1.

7. Cafe Jazz

Given by Gavin once you reach 90 FP. Talk to him in the back room of his house.

He likes fish, Mistmoon Flowers, Trick Blue Flowers, and any kind of coin.

8. My Racing Heart

You need to be in Chapter 6 or later. Raise your child’s friendship to 90 FP or more, then talk to them while they’re in their bedroom.

9. Summer of the Pioneer

Become friends with Carter (90 FP+). He loves Cheese (B, A, or S-Rank), Watermelon, Melon, Waterblue, Meloblue, and Wool.

Once you’ve reached 90 FP or higher, talk to him at the beach on the 3rd or 8th of the month.

10. Joyful Autumn

Raise your friendship with Mukumuku to 90 FP or more, then talk to him to get the record. He likes fish, eggs, milk, crops, flowers, and cheese.

The tricky part is that Mukumuku only appears during Winter near Forest Spring.

11. Autumn in Oak Tree Town

In Chapter 2 or later, raise Kate’s FP to 90 or higher. She likes fish, melons, strawberries, flowers, and coins.

Once you’re close enough, talk to her while she’s on the second floor of her house. The hard part is catching her there—she’s usually out and about.

12. One Sunny Day

Raise Chris’s friendship to 90 FP or more and talk to her anywhere to get this record. She likes flowers, excavation ores, and apples. Super easy!

13. Wonderful!!

You’ll get this record from Takakura once you reach Chapter 2 (or later) and have 90 FP with everyone except Vinnie.

Vinnie’s FP doesn’t count for this one. Once the requirement is met, talk to Takakura.

14. Winter Mineral Town

Given by Hugh in Chapter 4 or later when your friendship with him hits 90 FP.

His favorite gifts change each chapter:

  • Chapter 1: Milk, Coin, Milky Soup, Wool
  • Chapter 2: Banana (B Rank+), Wool, Silver Coin
  • Chapter 3: Gold Wool, Coin, Gold Coin, Herbal Soup
  • Chapter 4: Banana (S Rank), Gold Wool, Coin, Gold Coin

The easiest way to raise Hugh’s FP in Chapter 1 is by giving him milk and coins from the dig site every day.

Once you have enough FP and reach Chapter 4, talk to him while he’s in his bedroom upstairs.

The tricky part? Catching him upstairs before he comes down. The best trick I found is setting your alarm clock to 5:00 AM. Head to his house right after you wake up.

When their front door unlocks at 6:00 AM, go in and rush upstairs before he comes down. If you wake up at 6:00 AM by default, he might already be downstairs when you arrive.
