Maya is the default name of the female protagonist in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (SoS AWL). Just like with the male character, you can rename her to anything you like at the start of the game.
She’s a young woman who decides to take over her late father’s farm after his passing. One day, she gets a letter from Takakura, her dad’s old friend, inviting her to Forgotten Valley to start a new life.
Even though Maya doesn’t know much about farming at first, Takakura is more than happy to help her get the hang of it and run the farm together.
In your first year, you’ll marry one of the available marriage candidates. After that, the game fast-forwards a few years—you’ll have a child, and the rest of the game focuses on living a peaceful life on the farm and watching your kid grow up into adulthood.
